Are you ready for action?
Arts in Action is a 6-week after-school theater arts education program for 4th & 5th graders.
Arts in Action helps young people connect with the world around them in new and exciting ways. Through sessions in acting and movement, participants will learn about and experience the art of performance, while exploring important issues like bullying, conflict resolution and active citizenship in our society.
Arts in Action integrates knowledge and experience by engaging students' imagination and creativity. The program consists of a weekly 90-minute workshop, taught by Carolyne Haycraft and Donna Peckett, experienced educators and theater professionals.
Arts in Action is a 6-week after-school theater arts education program for 4th and 5th graders.
Each week Arts in Action participants will enjoy
40 minutes of Acting in Action
taught by Carolyne Haycraft, an introductory
acting course which explores character development while demonstrating the
importance of being part of a group. Students will use poetry, short stories,
games, improvisation, lighting and sound to create a fun-filled performance
piece.
40 minutes of Movement in Action
taught by Donna Peckett, which incorporates
basic movement skills, rhythm, sound, music and props to improvise an exciting
performance piece on taking responsibility for our actions.
10 minutes of Group Time.

The fee is $120 for six weeks.

Mondays: 2:00 - 3:30 PM, November 7 - December 12
or
Wednesdays: 3:30 - 5:00 PM, November 9 - December 14
